Fotofinder® Body Mapping
We offer a full body skin cancer/mole map service at Doncaster Medical Centre as well as at our sister clinic in Blackburn South. Our doctors use the latest advanced equipment from Germany. Unlike dermatologists who only use the dermascope, here at DMC, we use the dermascope as well as the bodystudio technology for a full body scan.
The FotoFinder® machine takes full body high resolution digital photographs and identifies and tracks every spot on your body. The software on board makes a call on any suspicious/ potentially cancerous spots and provides a probability rating. In addition, our doctors will review any suspicious spots with a dermascope and make further assessment, which may involve sending a sample to our onsite pathology labs, instant removal or referral to a dermatologist.
One of the features we promote is the machine's ability to track changes in size, colour and shape of each spot, or occurence of new spots on your body in subsequent visits. It gives our patients peace of mind knowing that their whole body is being tracked. The skin check is privately billed, however, patients are eligible to receive a rebate from Medicare.
